THE IMPORTANCE OF MUSIC IN SCHOOLS HERE
MAKE IT FUNKY
Make It Funky’ is an after-school opportunity for middle and high school age musicians in Mashpee to learn about jazz musicianship, working with seasoned musicians and music educators. Students learn the basics of music theory, ear-training, jazz improvisation, and professional performance standards. Program meets weekly during the school year in the Mashpee High School band room.

Workshops & Residencies
SKL offers a variety of workshops and residencies around music performance and education including master performance classes, professional development for music educators, and artist/ performer-in-residence, and lecture demonstrations to community and educational organizations, institutions, and programs. These workshops and residencies are generally custom designed to meet the needs of the needs of the program. Organizations interested in creating or hosting a workshop in cooperation with SKL should contact our General Manager for more information.
Internships & Case Studies
For college students and people just exploring the professional side of the arts and arts management, SKL has a dynamic internship program, offering hands-on training and experiences in arts promotion, marketing and artist representation.
Case studies are often projects that are being curated by one of our roster artists focusing on arts and economic development, such as starting an entertainment or media company for the promotion of their own work, or to cultivate a brand around a collective of artists. Many of the internships have a commission-based compensation system.
